GREENWICH WIND FARM NOW CALLED CROSSROADS WIND POWER

October 3, 2018 -- Two representatives from Swift Current — director David Fowler and Matt Birchby, partner and managing director — stopped by the Norwalk Reflector newsroom to share information about the “farm-first” project Tuesday. Fowler and Birchby met with Greenwich-area residents during a landowners meeting Sept. 26 at the Buckeye Community Center in Shiloh.


Swift Current is leasing 4,000 acres in Greenwich Township for 25 wind turbines. The turbines at the tip of the blades could be as tall as 499 feet.


“There are 30 separate farms in the project,” Birchby said.  Read more....

HILLTOPPER WIND FARM IN LOGAN COUNTY, IL., DEVELOPED BY SWIFT CURRENT ENERGY, COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION

April 9, 2018 -- The HillTopper Wind project, a 185 MW wind energy facility located in Logan County, Illinois that was developed by Swift Current Energy, has commenced construction.   Swift Current is pleased to also announce that it has partnered with Enel Green Power, who will manage the construction and be the HillTopper project's long-term owner and operator.  Read more.....

ENEL TO SELL POWER FROM ITS FIRST WIND FARM IN U.S. STATE OF ILLINOIS TO BLOOMBERG & GENERAL MOTORS

April 9, 2018 -- Enel, through its US renewable company Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (“EGPNA”), started construction of the 185 MW HillTopper, its first wind farm in the US state of Illinois. The new wind project is supported by two long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) to sell portion of its power to Bloomberg LP and General Motors.  Read more....

GENERAL MOTORS SIGNS 200MW POWER OFF-TAKE DEAL

September 20, 2017 -- General Motors (GM) is buying 200MW of output from two wind projects to power its manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Indiana.   


It will also purchase a the output of a further 100MW from Swift Current Energy’s 228MW Hill Topper site in Logan County, Illinois. Both projects are due to come online next year. Read more.....

SWIFT CURRENT ENERGY DEVELOPING HILLTOPPER WIND PROJECT IN LOGAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS

February 2, 2017 -- Swift Current Energy ("Swift Current") today announced that it is developing the 175 to 200MW HillTopper Wind Energy Project ("HillTopper") in Logan County, Illinois.  Swift Current acquired the rights to HillTopper from Relight Enterprises in late 2016.  Swift Current will complete development and construction of HillTopper and plans to bring the project online in late 2018.  Read more.....
