ENEL BEGINS CONSTRUCTION ON TWO MIDWEST WIND FARMS

August 1, 2019 -- Enel Green Power North America Inc.  has started construction on two new U.S. wind farms.


Totaling roughly 300 MW of renewable energy capacity, the Whitney Hill and White Cloud wind projects – together with the 450 MW High Lonesome wind project and 497 MW Roadrunner solar project, both being built in Upton County, Texas – bring the company’s total renewable capacity under construction in the country to 1.25 GW.  Read more....

MOUNT PULASKI BENEFITS FROM ENEL WIND FARM

May 15, 2019 -- The people of Mount Pulaski are putting the money from the Enel Green Power wind farm to good use.  


Mount Pulaski Economic Development chairman Tom Martin outlined the progress his town has seen with the community funds Enel has contributed through its HillTopper wind farm. According to Martin, Economic Development gets $110,000, and the Mount Pulaski Courthouse Foundation gets $25,000 annually.  Read more....

ENEL GREEN POWER NORTH AMERICA INC. COMPLETES TAX EQUITY FINANCING FOR HILLTOPPER WIND PROJECT

December 17, 2018 -- Stoel Rives congratulates its client Enel Green Power North America Inc. (EGPNA) on completing the tax equity financing for its 185 MW HillTopper Wind Project in Logan County, Illinois. The financing is being provided by Wells Fargo. Offtakers for the project include Bloomberg, General Motors, and both Starbucks and Comcast Spectacor (through Constellation).  The project was originally developed by another Stoel Rives client, Swift Current Energy, and acquired by Enel at the end of 2017.  Read more.... 

HILLTOPPER WIND FARM, Illinois, USA

December 14, 2018 -- Operations have begun at the new HillTopper wind farm in the USA. The farm will produce about 570 GWh a year and provide green energy to large organizations such as Bloomberg, Constellation and General Motors. Through PPAs, our long-term partnerships, companies can satisfy the increasingly #green demand of consumers.  See video here.

GREENWICH WIND FARM NOW CALLED CROSSROADS WIND POWER

October 3, 2018 -- Two representatives from Swift Current — director David Fowler and Matt Birchby, partner and managing director — stopped by the Norwalk Reflector newsroom to share information about the “farm-first” project Tuesday. Fowler and Birchby met with Greenwich-area residents during a landowners meeting Sept. 26 at the Buckeye Community Center in Shiloh.  Swift Current is leasing 4,000 acres in Greenwich Township for 25 wind turbines. The turbines at the tip of the blades could be as tall as 499 feet.  “There are 30 separate farms in the project,” Birchby said.  Read more.

ENEL TO SELL POWER FROM ITS FIRST WIND FARM IN U.S. STATE OF ILLINOIS TO BLOOMBERG & GENERAL MOTORS

April 9, 2018 -- Enel, through its US renewable company Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (“EGPNA”), started construction of the 185 MW HillTopper, its first wind farm in the US state of Illinois. GENERAL MOTORS SIGNS 200MW POWER OFF-TAKE DEAL

September 20, 2017 -- General Motors (GM) is buying 200MW of output from two wind projects to power its manufacturing facilities in Ohio and Indiana.  It will also purchase a the output of a further 100MW from Swift Current Energy’s 228MW Hill Topper site in Logan County, Illinois. SWIFT CURRENT ENERGY DEVELOPING HILLTOPPER WIND PROJECT IN LOGAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS

 February 2, 2017 -- Swift Current Energy ("Swift Current") today announced that it is developing the 175 to 200MW HillTopper Wind Energy Project ("HillTopper") in Logan County, Illinois.  Swift Current acquired the rights to HillTopper from Relight Enterprises in late 2016.  Swift Current will complete development and construction of HillTopper and plans to bring the project online in late 2018.  Read more....
